Matěj Kovář is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Manchester United.

He played in all but two of the team's remaining matches that season, replacing Alex Fojtíček as first-choice goalkeeper.
Kovář was again the first-choice goalkeeper for the reserve team the following season, playing in 17 of their 22 league matches; he also played in six of the seven matches for the under-19s in the 2018-19 UEFA Youth League.
